ConnectWiz for Instagram
Premium channelThe whole Instagram surface. Stories, DMs, reels, comments — one desk.
Instagram is where browsing becomes buying — and where a slow answer is a lost sale. ConnectWiz ships the full messaging surface: a real team inbox with AI, story context on every reply, a comment desk with private replies, ad attribution, and the ops layer that keeps a famously silent platform honest. This page lists all of it.
It is — M and L are in stock at $129, and story viewers get free shipping today. Want the link to order?
Getting on
Two doors in. Both live, neither needs a token pasted.
Instagram messaging runs on Meta’s professional-account APIs. ConnectWiz ships both connection paths — pick whichever matches how your Instagram is actually set up.
Facebook-linked login — live
The production path: your Instagram professional account, connected through the Facebook Page it’s linked to. One Facebook login inside ConnectWiz, permissions granted through Meta’s official dialog, DMs flowing in minutes. This is the road every serious Instagram tool drives on — ours just checks the tires.
Direct Instagram login — live
No Facebook Page involved: sign in with Instagram itself. Scheduled token renewal, per-permission handling and the same inbox behind it — approved through Meta’s App Review and live, for businesses that run Instagram without a Facebook Page at all. (This card said "in review" until the day it cleared — that’s how statuses work here.)
Professional account required
Meta’s rule, not ours: the APIs work with business and creator accounts. Switching from personal is free and takes a minute — ConnectWiz checks and tells you before you waste a login attempt.
Never silences your Page
Instagram and Messenger share one webhook node at Meta — and a naive connect overwrites it. ConnectWiz asks Meta what the node already receives and subscribes to the union, so adding Instagram never mutes the Facebook Page beside it. Most platforms learn this one from angry tickets.
Same name, no mix-ups
Meta keeps a hidden Facebook Page behind every Instagram professional account — often with the same name as a real Page. ConnectWiz prints each entity’s ID under its name in the connect list, so you always pick the one you meant.
Inbox & AI
DMs with a team behind them — and an AI that respects the clock
Team inbox, properly
Routing by department and workload, assignment, internal notes with @mentions, supervisor view, full history — on desktop and the native mobile app. The DMs stop living in one person’s phone.
Wiz, window-aware
Meta gives you 24 hours to reply after the customer’s last message. Wiz answers from your own catalog and policies in seconds, in 52 languages — so the window opens, gets answered, and reopens with the customer’s reply instead of quietly expiring.
Send real files — up to 25 MB
Price lists, catalogs, tickets, manuals: PDFs and documents go out in Instagram DMs. Meta has supported it for a while; most platforms never turned it on. ConnectWiz did.
Buttons that tell the truth
Quick replies and interactive elements — with a rule most tools ignore: Instagram shows no buttons on desktop. Every interactive message ConnectWiz sends carries a plain-text path too, so a desktop customer never stares at a dead end.
Seen, and you know it
Read receipts flow into the conversation, so "did they see the quote?" has an answer. Your reads are reported back to Meta too — the customer’s app behaves the way they expect.
Voice notes, transcribed
Incoming audio messages become searchable text automatically; reels and videos are stored in formats that actually play back. Nobody re-listens to a 90-second voice note to find one order number.
Real names, not "Lead #4127"
Profiles resolve with name or username — whichever Meta provides — plus avatar and account standing, with consent-aware retries when Meta’s first answer is a shrug. Your CRM fills with people, not placeholders.
Plays fair with other tools
Full Meta handover-protocol support: thread control, standby, polite passes to Instagram’s own inbox. Running a survey bot beside ConnectWiz? Conversations move between apps without either one going deaf.
Moderation with three verbs
Move to spam, block the sender at Meta’s level, or remove a thread from the inbox — all from the panel, all in Meta’s own vocabulary, partial failures reported honestly.
Split-proof conversations
Two webhooks arriving two milliseconds apart used to be enough to split one customer into two threads on naive platforms. ConnectWiz locks conversation creation — one person, one thread, even under webhook race conditions.
No message left unreadable
When Instagram sends something exotic, ConnectWiz doesn’t drop it or render a blank card — it says what it received, fetches the content it can, and keeps the conversation’s story intact for the agent.
Human handoff, both directions
Wiz escalates on low confidence, an angry tone or "real person please" — with the full thread attached. Agents hand back with one click, and the AI takes the night shift again.
Stories & reels
"Saw your story" is a sales lead. Treat the story as context, not decoration.
Story replies and mentions are Instagram’s highest-intent messages — someone saw the product and typed. ConnectWiz attaches the story to the conversation, so "how much is this?" is never a guessing game.
Story replies, with the story
The reply arrives with its story attached — agents see what "this" means without opening Instagram. Wiz reads the same context before answering.
Story mentions
A customer tags your brand in their story — it lands as a conversation, ready to thank, repost-request or convert while the story is still live.
Privacy by architecture
Story media is never copied to our servers — it renders straight from Instagram’s CDN, exactly as Meta’s Platform Terms require. When the story expires, the panel says "story no longer available" honestly, in 52 languages, instead of pretending.
Reels & shared posts, labeled right
A shared reel says "shared a reel", a story tag says "tagged you" — the badges match reality, and shared media is stored in a form that still plays next month, not as a saved login page.
Comments
The comment section is a queue. ConnectWiz runs it like one.
Questions under your posts are support tickets with an audience — and buying signals with a scroll-away timer. Comments land in a triage desk beside your DMs, with the post attached and every reply option one click away.
Triage, not scrolling
New comments arrive as work items with the post attached — assigned, tagged and answered like any conversation. Nobody "checks the comments" as a hobby anymore.
Public reply or private DM
Answer publicly under the post, or send a private reply that moves the conversation into DMs — the right move for order details, complaints and prices you’d rather not print. Works for comments on live streams too, within Meta’s reply window.
Comments carry their campaign
A comment under a boosted post arrives knowing which ad produced it — so "does the campaign work?" is answered by the desk, not by guesswork.
Hidden comments, handled
Replying to a hidden comment publicly would expose it — ConnectWiz knows the state and routes those answers to the private path instead.
Your own replies don’t boomerang
When your social manager answers from the Instagram app on their phone, that reply doesn’t bounce back into ConnectWiz as a new "unanswered comment". The desk counts work, not echoes.
Wiz drafts, you approve
Repetitive comment questions — price, sizes, shipping — get instant AI drafts from your own content. Public words ship with a human glance by default.
Ads & attribution
Stop guessing which ad filled the inbox
Instagram sellers spend on ads, then answer the resulting DMs blind. ConnectWiz attaches the ad, the story and the link context to every conversation — the path from creative to conversation to sale, finally visible.
Click-to-Instagram ads
Conversations opened from an ad carry the campaign and creative context into the thread — every agent (and Wiz) knows what brought the customer in.
ig.me links, attributed
The ig.me links you print on packaging and bios open conversations with their source attached — and a tap refreshes the 24-hour reply window, so the answer can actually be sent.
Context becomes segments
Ad-sourced contacts auto-tag by campaign and product interest — the retargeting list builds itself, consent-checked, while your team just answers questions.
Reliability & ops
Instagram fails silently. ConnectWiz refuses to.
The platform’s signature failure mode is a channel that looks connected and quietly receives nothing. Most of our Instagram engineering exists to make silence impossible.
Subscriptions read from Meta, not memory
What your webhook node receives is asked from Meta itself and maintained as a union across Instagram and Messenger — one channel’s connect can never silently strip another’s events.
Per-permission grace
If Meta declines one permission, only that capability steps aside — messaging never dies because a side-scope was refused. The panel shows exactly which switch is off and whose move it is: yours, ours, or Meta’s.
Tokens renewed on schedule
Instagram’s long-lived tokens expire in 60 days — and once expired, they can’t be refreshed at all. ConnectWiz renews them on a schedule and watches their health daily, so the channel never dies of neglect.
Honest permission verdicts
"Waiting for App Review", "your account hasn’t granted it" and "ready to use" are three different answers — and the panel gives you the right one per connection path, instead of a generic "try again".
Channel health, by exception
Account standing, token state and delivery signals surface as a problem list — a healthy channel shows nothing, so a shown row actually means something.
Repair tools included
Split threads can be merged, missing names re-fetched, media re-resolved — operational messes get commands, not support tickets that end in "reconnect and hope".
Premium channel
What Instagram costs — one bill, and it isn’t Meta’s
Instagram is a premium channel in ConnectWiz. Unlike WhatsApp, Meta runs no per-message meter here — so the pricing story is refreshingly short.
Bill one — ConnectWiz (the platform)
- Business plan: Instagram included as a core channel
- Pro plan: Instagram included — premium picks start here
- Free & Starter: not available — premium channels start at Pro
- Per-message fee from us: $0 — unlimited DMs, stories and comments within your plan’s conversation allowance
Bill two — there isn’t one
Meta charges no usage fees for Instagram messaging. No template economy, no per-message rates, no country rate cards. The only "meter" is a rule, not a price:
- The 24-hour window — you may reply freely for 24 hours after the customer’s last message; their next message reopens it
- Wiz answers in seconds, so in practice the window is refreshed by the conversation itself
- ig.me link taps refresh the window too — a printed link is a reopened door
Meta’s platform rules evolve — where WhatsApp needs a rate-card page, Instagram needs exactly this paragraph.
Your next customer is watching your story right now.
Connect Instagram, attach the context, and stop making buyers wait until someone checks the app.
