ConnectWiz for Telegram
Free channel — every planThe channel where AI answers finally look like answers.
Telegram’s Bot API is the deepest chat platform outside Meta — and the only one where an AI reply can render as a clean document, with tables, code and math. ConnectWiz ships that surface, plus safe group support and Telegram Business — measured line by line against Telegram’s own 28-page bot guide.
Here’s the side-by-side — Standard covers quarterly service at $49/mo, Pro adds 24/7 parts coverage at $89/mo. Full comparison table below, and I can book a callback if you’d like a human to walk you through it.
Getting on
Two minutes with a token. Then the channel watches itself.
Telegram connects with a bot token instead of an OAuth popup — so ConnectWiz makes those two minutes safe, validated and honest about what lives where.
Token in, verified live
Create a bot with Telegram’s official @BotFather, paste the token once. ConnectWiz validates it against Telegram before saving, stores it encrypted, and never displays it again — a masked preview is all anyone sees.
Many bots, routed
Connect as many bots as you run — a sales bot, a support bot, one per brand — and bind each to its own department. Conversations inherit the routing automatically.
Hourly webhook watchdog
Every hour the channel asks Telegram how delivery is going: errors land in your channel timeline, a growing backlog gets logged, and subscription drift — Telegram’s quietest failure mode — is caught by comparing what Telegram actually enforces against what we believe.
Self-repairing subscriptions
The event types we listen for are versioned. When a new capability needs a new event, every live channel heals itself on its next inbound update — no tenant ever has to reconnect to receive what the platform added.
Bot identity from the panel
Name, description, about text, command menu and menu button — managed in ConnectWiz, pushed to Telegram. No more round trips to BotFather for the settings that have an API.
Honest about BotFather’s borders
Nineteen bot settings live only in BotFather — no panel can manage them, ours included. Instead of pretending, ConnectWiz ships a guide that maps all nineteen, plus the risks: token regeneration, bot deletion, ownership transfer.
Inbox & AI
A bot conversation with a whole team behind it
Team inbox, properly
Departments, assignment, internal notes with @mentions, tags, supervisor view, full history — on desktop and the native mobile app. Telegram stops being one person’s phone notification.
Wiz, unhurried by design
Answers from your own content in 52 languages, escalates to a human with full context and hands back with one click. Telegram bot chats have no reply window — but customers do have patience limits, and Wiz answers in seconds.
Language, learned on hello
Telegram sends each customer’s language with their first message. ConnectWiz captures it into the conversation and the contact card — filling only blanks, never overwriting what an agent set — so Wiz and your templates speak the right language from message one.
Deep links that pay their way
Every Telegram journey starts with /start — and t.me links can carry a campaign payload. ConnectWiz reads it as attribution instead of letting it hit the AI as gibberish, so "which ad brought this customer" has an answer on Telegram too.
Commands that actually answer
Build the / command menu in the panel, in every language you support. Answers go live only after Telegram accepts the menu — so a customer can never pick a command that leads nowhere. In groups, commands must explicitly address your bot before it responds.
Media both ways — and an AI that looks and listens
Photos, video, voice notes, files and stickers flow in both directions. With multimodal understanding on, a voice note or a photo with no text still gets a real answer, not a shrug.
Reactions, quotes & typing
Both directions: agents see the customer’s reactions and can react back, replies quote the message they answer, and the customer sees a typing indicator while a response is being written.
Receipts, retries & recall
Every send is confirmed by Telegram’s own receipt, transient failures retry with backoff, and an agent can retract a sent message when the wrong thing went out.
A composer that knows the channel
The panel asks the server what this conversation can carry right now — media size limits, quoting, reactions — and offers exactly that. Agents never compose a message the channel will refuse.
Rich answers
AI answers rendered as documents — Telegram’s newest surface, shipped
Telegram built its rich-message format explicitly for AI answers, reports and documentation. ConnectWiz ships it from Bot API 10.2 — most tools haven’t noticed it exists.
Documents, not blobs
Headings, tables, code blocks, math notation, collapsible detail sections — a structured answer arrives as a clean, scannable document instead of a wall of raw markdown.
Structure decides, not décor
The document format is chosen when an answer has real structure — tables, lists, code — never to dress up one bold word. And an agent’s quoted reply stays a regular message, because Telegram’s rich format can’t carry quotes.
Three-step fallback
Rich document → formatted text → plain text. A Telegram setup that doesn’t know the newest format silently gets the next one down. Formatting is never a reason a customer doesn’t receive a message.
Reads right, right-to-left
Structured answers carry the reader’s text direction — Arabic, Hebrew and Persian customers get documents that lay out correctly, not mirrored Latin scaffolding.
Buttons & forms
Interactive surfaces that respect how Telegram actually behaves
Inline buttons drive flows
Choice buttons under a message branch your automation flows by payload — reliable routing, not brittle text matching.
Every tap acknowledged
A Telegram button tap posts nothing to the chat — tools that don’t know this leave customers staring at a spinner. ConnectWiz acknowledges every tap instantly through Telegram’s own feedback channel.
Choices retire themselves
Buttons are a choice, not a menu: once the customer picks one, the keyboard withdraws. Nobody taps a week-old option that no longer means anything.
Questions that open the reply box
When a flow asks something, the customer’s reply box opens focused on that question — Telegram’s own recommended pattern, and the privacy-friendly one.
Phone & location, one tap
Native share chips ask for a phone number or a location and the customer answers with a tap. The number lands in the same CRM field as every other channel’s — one identity, finally mergeable.
Your web app, answered
The bot’s menu button can open your web app inside Telegram — and what customers submit there flows back into the conversation. Data your customers type reaches your team, not the void.
Group chats
Group support, without the ways groups go wrong
Most inbox tools either ignore Telegram groups or step on the rakes — leaked private threads, AI barging into rooms, bots talking to bots. ConnectWiz supports groups with the failure modes engineered out.
Groups are born silent
Add the bot to a group and the AI says nothing — until you switch the group assistant on for that channel. A support AI joining a team’s room uninvited is a bug, not a feature.
Private stays private
A customer speaking in a group can never redirect their personal thread — replies meant for a person go to the person, campaigns never land in rooms. Nine dedicated tests guard this, including the paranoid one: an ambiguous chat is treated as a room, because guessing is the leak.
Who-said-what, kept
A group is one conversation with many voices: each message is attributed to its speaker, so agents read a room, not a transcript soup.
Commands must name the bot
Telegram hands every bot in a room every slash command. ConnectWiz answers only commands explicitly addressed to your bot — no hijacking another bot’s traffic, no being hijacked.
Machine-loop brake, default on
Two bots in a room can ping-pong forever — at your AI budget’s expense. ConnectWiz mutes AI replies to other bots' messages and caps machine-speed exchanges, a brake Telegram itself requires and most tools skip. Human conversations, however fast, are never touched.
Or skip groups entirely
Don’t want the bot in rooms at all? One BotFather switch keeps it out of groups everywhere, and our tenant guide shows exactly where it is. The honest option is also the cheapest.
Telegram Business
Support on your own Telegram account — not just your bot
Telegram’s secretary mode lets customers write to the account they already know — your business’s own @handle — while ConnectWiz answers behind it. The WhatsApp Business model, on Telegram, and almost nobody ships it.
Your account, our desk
Messages to the connected business account land in the same team inbox as everything else, and replies go out on the account’s behalf — the customer never has to find your bot.
Permission-checked, every send
The account owner controls what the connection may do, and can change it anytime. ConnectWiz re-verifies the write permission on every single send — it never assumes yesterday’s yes.
The 24-hour rule, honored
Telegram allows on-behalf replies only in chats active within the last day — the one place Telegram has a messaging window, and ConnectWiz enforces it instead of discovering it in production.
Mirrored and visible
Deleted business messages are reflected in the inbox, and every business connection is listed read-only in the panel. Setup is honest too: secretary mode is a switch on your account, and the guide walks you to it.
Reliability & ops
The layer that keeps a free channel enterprise-grade
Webhooks that never guess
Every inbound update is authenticated with a per-channel secret, deduplicated by Telegram’s own update ID, and processed asynchronously — a slow moment in our database never costs you a message.
Rate limits, from the source
When Telegram says "wait 60 seconds", ConnectWiz waits 60 — not a hardcoded guess that retries too early and burns attempts, or too late and keeps a customer waiting. Telegram’s own guideline says exactly this; we just actually do it.
One upload, ten thousand sends
An image broadcast reuses Telegram’s file reference instead of re-uploading the bytes per recipient — and if Telegram ever rejects a cached reference, that one send falls back to a fresh upload. An optimization never costs a message.
Blocked means blocked
Whether Telegram tells us proactively or a send bounces, a customer who blocked your bot is marked unreachable — and every future broadcast audience excludes them. Re-targeting people who said no is how channels die.
Service messages, understood
Payload-bearing events — web-app submissions, shared contacts — are parsed and kept. Noise events — someone changed the group wallpaper — are filtered. Your inbox holds conversations, not ghost entries.
Audited line by line
Telegram’s 28-page bot guide was measured against our code, item by item. It found eleven live defects — including two privacy-grade ones — and all eleven are closed with tests. This page claims nothing that audit didn’t confirm.
Free channel
What Telegram costs — the rare channel where both bills are zero
WhatsApp has usage fees and Meta channels have reply windows. Telegram has neither — which is why it’s the channel we give away on every plan.
Bill one — ConnectWiz: $0
- Free on every plan — including the Free plan, alongside web chat
- No add-on fee, ever — while standard channels are $9/mo and premium ones $19/mo, Telegram stays $0
- Multiple bots included — each routed to its own team
- Conversations simply count toward your plan’s normal allowance
Bill two — Telegram: also $0
The Bot API charges nothing and meters nothing:
- No per-message fees — no rate cards, no template pricing, no conversation categories
- No reply window on bot chats — answer a customer tomorrow without a paid template
- One exception, enforced: Telegram Business on-behalf replies are limited to chats active in the last 24 hours
No window doesn’t mean no restraint — ConnectWiz still excludes blocked contacts and paces broadcasts, because deliverability is a reputation you spend.
The best free channel in your stack.
Two minutes to connect, zero fees on either side, and the one place your AI’s answers render the way they deserve.
